no flashing!! :/ and cebu after earthquake vid

So I decided not to flash my bada phone. Let's just say I found my "sign". :)) I suppose at this point I have to update on my life. :::::> chadaaa!! a video I took when we were turned away from a mall after the earthquake (what were we thinking? 0_o) so we had to turn around and brave the streets again in order to EAT!

yup. we ate ( i was with bff chongmates mimi and intet with kuya randy the patient driver :)) about 7:30 am and this was taken 12:30 plus since it was a jungle out there that time. duh. We treated it like a drill for the end of the world and people were like pouring out the streets and meeting cars and chaos reigned for a while. I got home (after lunch at dimsum break mango) after 2 pm. right. And then I slept until 9 am the next morning. It was pretty stressful.. especially when the earthquake hit. We were inside a "beads" shop in manalili and the security guard- who only thought about protecting the store- CLOSED THE DOOR! how were we supposed to get out? duh. I'm not ever going back there again. Good thing I heard the owner shouting at him to open the doors. That mollified me a bit. A tiny bit. So.. that was pretty much the excitement I had so far this week. A lot of excitement in a while, actually.. It was wonderful! p.s. don't mind the shouting person you're going to hear in my video. She's hungry that time. And it's a joke- the shouting I mean. :)) take care and God bless everyone! May God keep you!! <3

Flashing your phones :D

On February last year I purchased a new phone (hurray!). The Cherry Mobile Nova was all that I thought I needed to complete my day since it was constantly calling out my name every time I entered a mall o.0 I had it for like 3 months before I started to get really bored of the stock android 2.1 that the phone came in so I searched online and encountered a few posts about rooting or flashing phones.
On May 13, 2011 I just became (in my own world that day ^__^) a certified nova flasher. hahaha! Thanks to Geekierchick's blog I updated my nova to 2.3 gingerbread! woot!! and I enjoyed the benefits of having an upgraded os version and explored to my heart's content-yey! BUT.. after trying a few more updates (i tried flashing back and forth) I noticed that the battery was draining constantly and it went from more than a day of heavy usage to less than half a day! My hands got really clammy when this happened and I had to go and downgrade again. I found a blog (thanks to t-rex at pump out my paradigm here on blogger! :D) which taught me that my battery can still be saved! yey again! so I changed the kernel- yadayada-you can search it here on blogger so I won't post it anymore. XD It now lasts to more than a day and a half of normal usage and to a day and a few hours for heavy usage. My life was completed again... Then just last December, I searched online and discovered that bada 2.0 for the Samsung Wave 1 and 2 was released for Europe users (i think it was still the beta version..but still.. an upgrade..) and well.. it kinda impressed me. There's a new look to it. Aaaand the camera- which I like in this phone- has been improved (autofocus during video recording) so I thought "Hmmm.. what if I tried to flash this?" (By the way, my wave 2 was purchased a month before my cm nova). So that's the big question now. Should I flash my wave 2 or not? I'm currently, yes, as of this moment downloading the files to extract and upgrade my wave 2 (it's not the official version but so was the one I used in rooting my nova) and I'm still having an internal debate whether to push through with this or not. It says I have three hours left. It's a big file!! I'm excited but at the same time urrgghhh. What if something untoward happens? I cannot brick my phone. The service centers here have no clue what to do if it gets bricked (I know coz I know more about their products than they do-which doesn't say much for them). T_T
I really need to be careful with this one. Me and my mom split the amount. So she paid half of this and it will crush her to know I killed my baby!! and by the way, I gave my graduating sister the nova as a present so this wave will have to be kept alive!! It's the dilemma I'm having because first, it's tiring to see the same screen with no hope of any customization (like effects on scrolling in android and live wallpapers) day after day. Second, I'm tired of having to exit my browser since it doesn't have text reflow so pages not fit for mobile browsing will have a big sign saying it's too big to display and then you will have to exit everything and click the internet sign in order to browse again. T_T third, if I upgrade this and it get's bricked, my mom and dad and sister will get mad. Why not be content with what you have? yadayada.. It's human to crave improvement in everything you do and in everything around you right? It's normal..but they won't understand.  I hope I can find some sort of sign to guide me. Preferably between now and three hours from now. hehehe

So there you have it. This is not a tutorial or tips on how to upgrade your phone but rather some sort of silly pity-rant-self congratulatory post. I'm dreadfully confused. But- que sera sera!! XD I'll post something when I've already decided on how to proceed. The bada 2.0 update for my phone in the Philippines and other parts of the world has been delayed for 2012 after they said it will all be available before new year 2012..but samsung's like that...keeping us hanging in the air. <sigh>

night shift

Woot! Just came from a 10 pm to 6am shift and I'm hiiiiiiiggghhh!! :D I just love days when I don't have to do anything except stare at the laptop or my at phone. o_0 I had to accompany my bff for her chest xray since she's coughing for almost 2 weeks and since she has nada appendix anymore, her immunity is lower compared to us people who didn't have appendectomy. :) Then she had to gimme breakfast (haha! I tried telling her no- no means yes right?- but she won the argument and now I just got home from eating at a Chinese restaurant. YUM! ^_^ I'm glad she won the argument. Then we walked with our very tired legs home (near home because I have to ride a puj and her, a tricycle to go deeper into the subdivision). That was the end of my day since I'm backwards like that. It's cooler that way. (Who am I kidding?) I love night shift it's just...night is for sleeping right? But I can't sleep as easily as I did before taking this job (insomniac here) so I think this shift would really be advantageous for me. Extra money (night def) + eating FOOD (bad food is the best when you're on night shift) + going home really early before anyone is up and about and the city is so quiet and almost clean. I just wish that days like these continue. I'm not fond of heat and rain and commotion so I lurv night duty. It let's you see all the beauty there is in a city when no one's still up except you (and your workmates during your shift). :D double happy day! ate with bff, slight activity (walking home), and seeing the sites of the city through eyes ready to pop out from lack of sleep.. hehehe! wattaday! Have a nice one everyone!
p.s. stilnox is ready to knock me off now. 3...2...1......zZZZzzZzzzzz -.-

the world. :-D

So I'm back!and between the last time I posted to today, I managed to get a few new insights to life.. starting with 'Life is not a basketball game, no one can sub for you when you're tired.' Therefore we need to take good care of our bodies! and let's remain positive all day long. I learned that it can actually reduce our stress levels if we smile (even if we feel dumb) when there's nothing to smile about. Try it!! :-D next is.. 'start small and build up from there.' like putting on eyeshadows, it's best not to put on a lot at first..build it up. No one starts at the top of the ladder-it's a long way down. Career-people know this (ahem). We always start from the bottom and working up maybe hard (really hard)but the things you learn along the way will work to your benefit once you're on top! :-D yey! that's 2!
